DRR Club Meeting 1/18
Downriver Runners club meeting will be held this Wednesday, January 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Allen Park Civic Arena, after the Wednesday run. You do not need to run that night, but please come to the meting. We will discuss plans for the new year, the upcoming Winterfest run and volunteering, relays, Taylor and Allen Park races, and other matters. Pizza, soda and water will be provided. Thanks

Voulunteers Needed
The 25th running of the Riverview Winterfest run is coming up on February 12th. Volunteers are needed! Last year the response to my request for volunteers was great! Your help is needed again this year. We have needs in the registration and packet pick up area. If you volunteer in either of these areas you could also run the race also if you choose to enter it. Course marshals are ALWAYS needed for this event. This is a club sponsored run so please think about coming out and helping so we can continue to put on first class events. If you would like to volunteer for one or more positions (registration and course marshal for example) that would be good also. Being a winter run we do not have any water stops on the course but someone is needed to staff a water table inside the school. We could use a couple of people to help set up and take down the finish line. These are just a few examples; if you would like to help we can find a place for you. Please consider volunteering a couple hours of your time!!

Runner Friendly Community
After nomination by the Downriver Runners, Allen Park has been named a Runner Friendly Community by the Road Runners Club of America, one of only 10 communities across the country to make the RRCA's list. The goal of the Runner Friendly Community Program is to shine a national spotlight on communities that standout as runner friendly and to provide incentives and ideas for communities to work towards becoming Runer Friendly Communities.
