Registration Opens for the 2019 Winterfest 5k and Pancake Breakfast

Downriver Runners Winter Classic in its 31st Year!

Join us as we celebrate Winter, Running, and Valentine’s Day!  This year join us for a new distance, new location, and the race and pancakes you have come to love!

In addition to the pancake breakfast, this year runners 21 and up will enjoy mimosas as they enjoy raffle prize drawings.

Proceeds from the event support the Downriver Runner's annual Tony Mifsud scholarship program, a $1,000 college scholarship for two area high school runners.

Warm up with us after what is sure to be a chilly run with a delicious pancake breakfast inside the Parkside Gardens Banquet Hall that includes pancakes, sausage or bacon, juice, coffee and NEW THIS YEAR, MIMOSAS!

Each registrant will receive a long sleeve t-shirt, pancake breakfast, and be eligible for raffle prizes. 

Awards for Male and Female Overall Three Deep, Male and Female Masters, and Three Deep in Age Groups; 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & Up

Additional prizes will be awarded to the top 3 couples teams based on total overall finishing positions. Teams must be determined before the race begins on Sunday, February 10th.

Each runner will receive one entry into the raffle drawing. Additional tickets can be purchased on site day of; 1 for $1, 6 for $5 and an arm length for $20. 

$30.00 registration before February 3rd.

$35.00 after February 3rd and on race day.

Tony Mifsud News-Herald Scholarships

Two $1000 college scholarships will be awarded to Downriver High School Seniors who have competed in either the News-Herald cross country meet or the News-Herald track meet. The scholarship instructions can be downloaded here, and the application can be downloaded here.

Join the Wednesday Group Run

Downriver Runners meet Wednesdays for a group run at 6:30pm. Weather is not a factor so be prepared to run in rain or shine, cold or hot. Runners of all levels are welcome and the course is usually from 3 to 7 miles.
